Meeting in the Rain

For some reason, it was always raining when Genji came home from a mission.

Vega was sopping wet, drooping patheticly in the dripping water, waiting for his friend to come home. He was just one more grey smudge against a falling wall of grey dampness, hardly discernable from the grey wall he was leaning against.

Waiting.

It was hard to tell time in the rain, it could have been minutes or hours, but Vega finally saw him. Genji walked past him, trudging through the mud with hardly a word.

"Genji."

So Genji stopped, not turning, but listening as they were both wetted to the skin and dripping further in the endless deluge.

"...You shouldn't be doing this, these missions. They're just using you..." Vega told him, voice loud and passionate.

He was at Genji's face before he knew it, hands on his shoulders and leaning in to look at his eyes.

"...You know that, don't you?"

But there was no answer.
